Björk’s 1993 “One Day” Gets a Remix

In celebration of Women's History Month, I am offering two new special edition remixes celebrating Björk’s seminal 1993 album Debut.  She's been on my mind a lot, and I wanted to create something to give thanks to her pioneering work. The song “One Day” has always been a haunting electronic favorite of mine that I played to death on CD. The message, “one day it will happen, one day it will all make sense,” is so simple, yet so poignant. Filled with emotion, confidence, and Björk’s signature raspy and girlishly coy vocals, this song stands the test of time. Ever the savant of multi-media experimentation and visionary button pushing, this album stands out as a rare gem in the sea of 90’s hip-hop, rave culture, and grunge rock that pervaded the early nineties popular music scene.

A big shout-out to my co-collaborator, DJ Rahaan from Chicago, for finding some beauty in this effort and creating his own amazing version to offer on this release. Listen below and find here for purchase.

Play them with love, thank you!
